About Impactly

Making the good we do visible.

People do an enormous amount of good that never gets counted. Impactly gives it a home — so you can see what you’ve given, keep the habit going, and find the next way to help.

Why we’re building it

A Saturday at the food bank. An hour walking shelter dogs. A bag of litter picked up on a morning run. These moments add up to something big, but they’re easy to forget — and hard to build on.

Fitness apps showed that tracking what you do, and doing it alongside friends, helps a habit stick. Impactly brings that same energy to helping others: log what you did, see your impact grow over time, and discover events and organizations nearby that could use you next.

We think a little visibility goes a long way: when friends see each other show up, they’re more likely to show up too.

What we believe

Every kind of good counts

A shift at a shelter and a casserole for a neighbor both matter. Impactly makes room for formal volunteering and everyday kindness — for people, animals and nature.

Showing up beats showing off

Badges and levels reward consistency and variety, not just the biggest totals. An hour every week is worth celebrating.

Organizations are partners

Nonprofits and community groups can claim their listing, post events and verify volunteer hours, so the record means something.

Your privacy comes first

We show your neighborhood, never your address. You choose what’s public, and we never sell your data.

Starting local

Made on Earth

Impactly was founded by James McGowan and is being built in Nashville, TN, with a small group of alpha testers and local organizations. Starting in one city lets us get the events, organizations and details right before we grow.

If you run a Nashville nonprofit, a volunteer program or a community group, we’d love to hear from you.
